This concerns occasional production (DVD) and covers the sale and free distribution for private use in traditional circuits or on newsstands.

Sale or free distribution in traditional circuits

The criteria for calculating royalties are:

The rate of the fee
The price of the DVD (wholesale price not including VAT or selling price with VAT)
Number of DVDs to be made
Ratio: Duration of protected music / Total duration of DVD

Rate of fee: The rate of the fee is calculated according to the type of DVD.
(For DVDs featuring a Documentary / Drama / Report / Television programme, some works are protected by SACEM for the musical repertoire and by SCAM for the realisation.)

In case of free distribution or under a certain selling price, the evaluation of royalties is established on the basis of a threshold price of €7.84 for Music/Humour DVDs and €8.84 for Documentary/ Drama/ Report/ Television programme DVDs.
