The Prix Michel d’Ornano this year given to the first French film:

Created in 1991 by the members of the Motion Picture Association, and dedicated to the memory of Michel d’Ornano1, the Prix Michel d’Ornano gives a grant to a first French film, in order to help support its recognition, promotion and exportation.
The Prix Michel d’Ornano is supported by the Franco-American Cultural Fund. Founded by the SACEM and the two professional guilds in the United States representing original creative artists working in the film and television industry – the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) – and then joined by the Motion Picture Association, the Franco-American Cultural Fund is designed to promote original cinematography on both sides of the Atlantic, to encourage up-and-coming young talents and foster dialogue between professionals in the industry in both countries.
3,000 euros will be granted to the awarded directors and screenwriters Delphine and Muriel Coulin, 3,000 euros to the film’s producer Denis Freyd, and 10,000 euros to French distributor Diaphana Distribution to help promote the film.
The film will be screened in September during the Deauville American Film Festival.

Since its French release on January 26th, 2011, the film has reached 225 000 admissions in France.
« 17 GIRLS » will be released in France on December 7th, 2011 and distributed by Diaphana Distribution.

17 teenage girls take together an unexpected decision that will change their peaceful little lives and leave them misunderstood by the boys and adults around them: they decide to get pregnant all at the same time. This is based on a true story that occurred in 2008.
Delphine and Muriel Coulin directed the following short films: IL FAUT IMAGINER SISYPHE HEUREUX (1997), SOUFFLE (2000), GERMAIN (2002), ROUE LIBRE (2002) and SEYDOU (2009).
