SACEM (music creators and publishers) and WAT.tv (Videos, Buzz et vous) are proud to announce an agreement at Midem 2010

Under the agreement signed on 21 January 2010, WAT.tv will remunerate SACEM for the works of the authors, composers and publishers the authors’ society represents: musical works, musical documentaries and videos, works of humour, dubbing and subtitling, as well as poems and sketches.

This contract bears on the different types of content present on the site www.wat.tv, the 3rd video broadcaster on the Internet in France (content from professional and creative partners, and UGC – user generated content), thereby promoting musical creation and diffusion in the new media.

This agreement applies to WAT.tv’s activity since the launch date.

Bernard Miyet, CEO & Chairman of the SACEM Management Board, declares: “This agreement symbolises our will to facilitate the diffusion of Web 2.0 music to offer passionate web users a genuine exchange forum and a freedom of access to works, while fully respecting the rights of musical authors, composers and publishers.”

This signature ushers in a year 2010 rich in partnerships and changes for WAT.tv, with the ambition of developing the value of video in the new media in association with rights holders. I am completely satisfied with this agreement.”
