Nelly Quérol, vice-president
In 1983 she moved to the publishing sector and became director of the legal department of the music publishing house "Editions Salabert".
In 1991 she was appointed General Secretary, working with Marcel Landowski, President of Salabert at the time.
In 1999 she was appointed Director General of the company where the current President is Stéphane Berlow.
Salabert was founded more than a century ago and is renowned for the great wealth and variety of its repertoire born of the brilliant mind of Francis Salabert. The catalogue is comprised of more than 80 000 works, ranging from operettas (e.g. Christiné and Willemetz) and songs (Bruant, Moretti, Scotto and Trenet) to the jazz of Duke Ellington and film music by G. van Parys. Many great artists have given première performances of works in the catalogue: Josephine Baker, Maurice Chevalier, Marlene Dietrich, Mistinguett, Edith Piaf, Tino Rossi and Charles Trenet, to cite only the most prominent names.
And "serious" music has not been overlooked, with Editions Salabert publishing compositions by such names as Auric, Chausson, Duparc, Honegger, Milhaud, Poulenc, Ropartz, Roussel, Satie and Sauguet.
Support for symphony and chamber music has been developed, gradually extending to produce one of the finest catalogues of contemporary music, including Aperghis, Boucourechliev, Dusapin, Eötvös, Guézec, Jolas, Landowski, Malec, Murail, Scelsi, Takemitsu, Tanguy and Xenakis.
In parallel to her work with Editions Salabert, Nelly Quérol is president of the CSDEM (Chambre Syndicale de l'Edition Musicale), a position she has held since 1998, and is also a member of the boards of FCM, SEAM, CNM, CEMF and Musica Gallica.
