2008 Spring Awards
2008 Spring Awards
The Spring Awards are very different from the Sacem "Grand Prix" awards given out in December, firstly because they stem from legacies and donations as well as the determination of some of our great elders to honour the most diverse musical genres, and secondly because contemporary music is strongly represented among other extremely varied forms of musical expression.
This event is also a wonderful occasion for us to get together and banish for an instant the isolation of the creator - from which we all suffer to different degrees.
At a time when it is the done thing to call authors' rights into question, sacrificing them so easily on the altar of modernity, our Sacem remains the best defender of the cause of creators and their publishers. This auditorium is the perfect setting for this instant of artistic fraternity.
